Tools Needed:
Sharp Trimming or Slicing Knife (Surgical Knife Blade is made up of Stainless Steel and can be use in food related application.
Corn Flour or Corn Starch (avoids sticking and easy release)
CMC Tylose or Gum Tragacanth
Small Rolling Pin
Quilting Wheel Tool
Edible Glue (Thick Consistency)
Gloss and Shine Spray
Good
Quality Pure Gum Paste, Modelling Paste, Flower Paste or combination
Sugar Paste and Gum paste mix dough. Best result can be achieved from
Sugar Paste, Gum Paste or Flower paste with added Tylose Powder for
quick drying and more strength - 25% Sugar Paste+ 75% Gum Paste or 100 %
Gum Paste .
General Tips and Instructions:
Drying
is possible by leaving in a warm dry place – The Time taken for drying
depends entirely on the formulation of Sugar Paste, Gum Paste or Flower
paste mix with the added Tylose Powder. Normally few hours are enough
however it’s advisable to allow few days before the formed shape is
completely dry and hard. For faster drying use a fan on a medium speed
blowing the breeze directly on the drying shoe , the cut out parts or
heel mould .
For Sole + Sole onlay + Toe Strap + Heel Strap | Approximate rolled out thickness is 4 - 5mm for added strength.
For
Heel Mould – sprinkle Corn Flower or Corn Starch on the inside of the
mould – Than press Sugar Paste, Gum Paste or Flower paste in the mould
and press it with a palette knife from top to bottom to make it flat
along the edges of the mould .Then scrap any excess paste along the
edges – For Drying its best to put this mould in the freezer for few
hours for setting or overnight so the Heel becomes hard before it can be
taken out of the mould by pushing it from the top and let it slide out.
There
are many videos available on YouTube which shows how to assemble the
fondant high heel shoes – As every new and professional cake maker and
decorator have varying level of skills for modelling it’s advisable to
view these videos first in order to understand the general process and
chronological steps and then use your creative skills and ideas on our
kit which will reduce your time and make your work very easy and
enjoyable.
If you are new to cake decorating and modelling or
have not tried these kits before – its highly advisable to allow some
time to practice with these kits before you make your final piece for
the cake.
Please be advice:
We are aware that the shape of Sole + Sole onlay + Toe Strap + Heel
Strap templates are not 100 % perfect in fitting shape. This is on
purpose to allow a margin of stretching or shrinking. When the Gum Paste
is not dried it has a tendency of stretching while you are handling a
cut out from the template during assembling process. However when the
cut out from the Gum Paste have been handled and is in drying process
the Gum Paste will have a tendency of shrinkage. So during a final
assembly of all the High Heel Shoe parts a minor trimming adjustment is
always required in order to achieve a 100% perfect fit.
